London,
United Kingdom
- Dan Daley hosted and moderated a full day of panels and interviews
to a sold-out conference audience at Production Magic (www.musictank.co.uk/production_magic),
Europe's leading music producers' event. At the event, which took
place on Nov. 11 and was held at the Magic Circle Theater in London,
Dan moderated panels that covered topics including the role of the
producer in a changing music industry landcape, and new business
and revenue models for music production. Panelists included producers
Nile Rodgers (Chic), Hugh Padgham (The Bee Gees, David Bowie, Peter
Gabriel, Elton John, Paul McCartney, The Police), and Magnus Fiennes
(Bobby Womack, Bryan Ferry, Neneh Cherry, Seal, Daniel Lanois),
as well as entrepreneurs Safta Jaffery (Taste Music), Olly Barnes
(U-Myx) and Johan Vjosmeir (Sellaband.com). The centerpiece of the
day was Dan's one-on-one interview with renowned producer Phil Ramone
(Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, Julian Lennon), which drew
a standing ovation.
