at the AES Convention in New York City
At the 119th Audio Engineering Society (AES) Show in New York City (Oct. 7-10, 2005), Dan Daley was chosen to assemble and moderate thee key panels – each of which were the best-attended panels at the entire four-day conference. On Friday, Oct. 7 and Saturday, Oct. 8, Dan moderated panels
on the impact of next-generation disc formats On Saturday, Oct. 8, Dan also moderated what was acknowledged as the
most successful panel of the entire program, which commemorated the
35th anniversary of Electric Lady Studios – the House that Hendrix
Built. Dan hosted recollections and anecdotes about the conceptualization
and creation of Electric Lady Studios, founded in 1970 by the legendary
Jimi Hendrix. Panelists included Eddie Kramer, Hendrix’s long-time
production and engineering collaborator, and John Storyk, the renowned
architect and acoustician who designed the studio. Attendance was estimated
at several hundred persons, an audience that literally overflowed the
